Reviews
Went on a weekday afternoon. The set lunch was pretty worth it, but they were clearly overwhelmed by the crowd. The staff were polite but the food took a long time to come.
Starters and tiramisu were excellent, but the steak was not as flavourful as expected. Fries were crisp and the steak sauce was amazing as well
A cute place for lunch or dinner. I had the truffle and honey baked half camembert such was absolute love ♡ The smoked salmon rillettes was packed with burst of flavours. I will be back to try their other items in the menu!
Good atmosphere. Cozy and warm.
Service a bit slow but friendly and helpful.
Food is good and cook only as and when you ordered. Pan seared foie gras is fantastic and really love the brown caramel sauce that comes with it. Snail is chewy and flavouring. Baby chicken and pork are tender. Duck confit is slightly salty and tough. Chocolate pudding is ok but the cheese plate is below average.
The place is located at a quieter side of Tanjong Pagar. We visited on a Sat at 6pm and there were some empty seats. Environment is dim and relaxing. Wine per glass is reasonably priced. Ordered the ribeye, duck confit, burrata and apple tarte. Everything was delicious. The steak comes with a choice of side and was a good price for 300g. Best creamed spinach I’ve had. The staff are well spoken and pleasant. Would come back again
I was surprised by the good quality of food and the wonderful service at Josephine’s. When I walked in I immediately felt at home. The service staff were easy to talk to, the menu was simple to navigate through (most restaurants are such a maze) the food was fast to the table and delicious. The wine recommendation was excellent. Definitely a repeatable experience where I will try their other dishes.
I was very hopeful of Josephine. Brought guests over for lunch. It was my first try. I walked-in.
They have a good look and feel. I was wary received at the door and the crew was polite.
I was sad about the main dish. The pan fried sea bass was too hard. This was saddening. The appetisers were enchanting. The cocktail was good.
I will give Josephine one more try. I’m sure it was a bad day in the kitchen for them. I am still hopeful.
I saw this place a few weeks back when I passed by it and decided to try it recently. It’s a legit typical French restaurant with good food and decent prices for the area.
Service is good and prompt but it is wasn’t very full when we arrived..
Good wine list with good bottles under 80-90$ as well.
Had the duck rillette as starters and beef cheeks and duck confit as mains. Portions are generous.
The dessert menu looks good too but decided to watch our weight at that moments.
Definitely a good place and I will want to return
Service is good, however once the crowd starts it becomes slightly difficult to get hold of them. But it’s understandable.
Did not like that we are given a time limit 6-8pm but we were not chased away given that the crowd was okay.
Food overall is good and price is reasonable. Recommend the burrata cheese and cold platter, pork comes with sides like the cream spinach and bake potatoes are good choices.
Not recommend the rib eye steak. It’s decent but too much tendon.
Wine bottles low ballpark are around 60-70 which is okay.
We were seated just beside the entrance, high chairs but I thought was quite cozy. Ambience is okay 👍🏻
